HHS Playhouse to Present Drama Metamorphoses
Harrison High School Drama Students Will be performing an evening of Greek myths in a play written by Mary Zimmerman

The Harrison High School Playhouse will be presenting the drama Metamorphoses at the Harrison Performing Arts Center on November 14thand 15th at 7 pm and 16th at 2pm. Please note that due to the mature content of the play, it may not be appropriate for children under the age of 12.
Metamorphoses, originally written and directed by Mary Zimmerman, is an ensemble production that uses modern language to breathe life into Ovid’s myths, such as Midas, Zeus, Hermes, and other familiar legends. It seeks to reveal the timelessness of change through vignettes of the mythical characters that involve music, movement, comedy, and tragedy. As they watch, audience members are challenged to consider the constancy of love, loss, and change in our world.
Director Crystal Gonzalez, the HHS Playhouse’s club advisor, chose to construct a surreal setting for the play that reflects the idea that change is constant. “Both the cast and crew worked hard to create and decorate the set,” said Gonzalez. “The play will be performed by a cast of 39 students and includes a student-led musical ensemble and student-choreographed pieces.”
