Hauppauge 7th Grader Wins Highest Honors

Hauppauge Middle School seventh grader Xavier Cheng won Highest Honors at the Long Island Science Congress Junior Division Awards Program held last month at the Wheatley School. Cheng also won a $50 award from Science Teachers Association of New York State (STAYS) and competed in the New York State Science Congress, which was held at Brookhaven National Lab on May 31, 2014. The seventh grader’s project was titled, “Biofuels: A Greener Energy Source.” Cheng is pictured here with Director of Science, Technology & Research Rob Wankmuller and Hauppauge Middle School Principal Maryann Fletcher.
