Brooklyn Subway Pickpockets Go Uniform Shopping With Stolen Credit Card, Police Say

Two women stole a wallet from a Brooklyn straphanger last month and went on a shopping spree at Downtown Uniforms on Flatbush, police said.

DOWNTOWN BROOKLYN — Police are looking for two subway pickpockets who used their victim’s credit card to go shopping for uniforms.

The 21-year-old victim walked up out of the Jay Street-MetroTech station on July 13 around 11:30 a.m. only to discover someone had pulled her wallet out of her purse, police said.

The pickpockets immediately rushed to the Downtown Uniforms store at 60 Flatbush Ave. and bought $80 worth of merchandise about 30 minutes later, police said.

A surveillance video captured images of the two suspects, both women in their early twenties, who can be seen pointing out clothes to one another and signing a receipt for their ill-gotten garb, said police.
