Six Flags And Dorney Park Tickets Worth $1M Stolen By Brooklyn Bus Company Worker: Prosecutors

Rosemarie Bader allegedly bought about 36,000 unauthorized tickets with the company credit card, Brooklyn prosecutors announced.

DOWNTOWN BROOKLYN — A Staten Island woman accused of stealing $1 million worth of amusement park tickets from a Brooklyn charter bus company has been charged with grand larceny, prosecutors announced Wednesday.

Rosemarie Bader, 51, an employee of the Best Trails and Travel Corporation in Red Hook, allegedly used the company credit card to buy 36,000 unauthorized tickets to Six Flags Great Adventure and Dorney Park between January, 2014, and November, 2016, according to the Brooklyn District Attorney's office.

Bader, the charter bus company’s Sales Director, embezzled the tickets by buying extras when she booked trips for Best Trails and Travel Corporation clients with the company’s American Express card, prosecutors said.

Bader then grabbed the extra ticket when they were delivered and hid them in a personal safe underneath her desk, prosecutors said.

Her employers discovered Bader had bought 23,136 extra Dorney Park tickets and 13,102 extra Six Flags tickets — worth an estimated $1,000,533 in total — while examining the accounts in 2016, said prosecutors.

Bader was arraigned in Brooklyn Criminal Court on Wednesday, charged with two counts of grand larceny and two counts of criminal possession of stolen property and held on a $500,000 bond, prosecutors said.

She is expected to return to court on Oct. 11 and, if convicted, faces up to 25 years in prison, according to prosecutors.

Bader’s attorney declined to comment and the Best Trails and Travel Corporation did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
