Häagen-Dazs Scoops Out Free Ice Cream Tuesday Afternoon
Free cones will be available May 9 from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. in participating locations.

BROOKLYN HEIGHTS — Tuesday is Häagen-Dazs’ Free Cone Day and its shops will be handing out ice cream all afternoon.
The ice cream shop will dole out free scoops from its original location at 120 Montague Street between 4 p.m. and 8 p.m., and at other participating locations.
This year’s Free Cone Day celebrates the honey bee, which Haagen-Dazs said contributes a vital ingredient to the ice cream maker’s strawberry, rocky road, mango, and classic vanilla flavors.

Cone-seeking customers will be encouraged to support the honey bee by furbishing their gardens with bee-friendly plants and helping to spread the word about the endangered insects.
“Create some buzz,” the company said. “Get the word out to your community, family and friends about the critical role bees play in our ecosystem and the little things everyone can do to keep them buzzing.”
