Man Dies After Being Hit By Car In Downtown Brooklyn, Police Say

Edward Ailarov died more than a week after he was hit by a Ford SUV on Schermerhorn Street on Nov. 26, said police.

BROOKLYN HEIGHTS — A Queens man died a week after he was hit by a swerving SUV on Schermerhorn Street, police said.

Edward Ailarov, 50, was standing near the corner of Schermerhorn and Nevins streets around 1:45 a.m. on Nov. 26 when a 2006 Ford SUV swerved and smashed first into a parked 2015 Toyota, then into him, said police.

Ailarov was rushed to Methodist Hospital but doctors were unable to save his life, said police.

Ailarov, of Kew Gardens, died from his injuries on Monday, Dec. 4, said police.

The 52-year-old Ford driver remained at the scene had not been charged with a crime as of Wednesday, said police.
