Free Shakespeare is Coming to Brooklyn Bridge Park This Weekend

New York Classical Theater will perform Shakespeare's "The Winter's Tale" in Brooklyn Bridge Park for free this weekend.

BROOKLYN HEIGHTS, NY — This weekend Brooklyn Bridge Park will host New York Classical Theater's final performances of Shakespeare's "The Winter's Tale."

The theater company took its production to the park Monday after performing in Batter Park since late June, according to the New York Classical Theater's website. The play, which runs two hours with no intermission, will be a free event and will start at 7 p.m. Friday, Saturday and Sunday. No tickets will be required to attend the play, but the company does have tips on attending its outdoor productions. Interested theatergoers should know that Brooklyn Bridge Park does not allow guests to bring lawn furniture.

"The Winter's Tale" was published in 1623 by William Shakespeare. The New York Classical Theater's production of the play has been described as "frisky," and "passionate."
