90-Year-Old Woman Killed In Nassau Crash

HICKSVILLE, NY – A 90-year-old woman was killed in a head-on crash in Nassau County Friday afternoon, Nassau Police said. According to police, a 22-year-old man was driving a 2003 Toyota south on South Oyster Bay Road at the intersection of Old Country Road in Hicksville when his car was struck head-on by a 2005 Hyundai at 2 p.m.

The driver of the Hyundai, Marie Capelli, of Hicksville, was transported to Nassau University Medical Center, where she was pronounced dead at 2:40 pm., police said.

The driver of the Toyota, who police did not name, was taken to a nearby hospital to treated for non-life threatening injuries.

Both vehicles were impounded for brake and safety checks. No criminal charges have been filed as the crash investigation continues.
