Homeless Man From Hicksville Connected to 4 Commercial Burglaries: Police

He was arrested Wednesday night, police say.

A homeless man from Hicksville was arrested Wednesday for committing four commercial burglaries, police say.

According to authorities, Indalecio Suniga, 44, is responsible for the following burglaries:

  • On March 26, 2016, he entered The Great Wok, located at 35 Woodbury Road in Hicksville through a ventilation fan. Police say he did not steal anything but did leave behind a hat, which connected him to this burglary.
  • On Dec. 31, he entered Madina Market and Grocery, located at 607 Hicksville Road in Bethpage, and stole an undisclosed amount of cash.
  • On January 5 and January 6, he entered The Orient Restaurant, located at 623 Hicksville Road in Bethpage, and removed an undisclosed amount of cash.

An investigation connected Suniga to these crimes and he was placed under arrested without incident on E. Barclay Street and Broadway in Hicksville at 8:15 p.m., police say. He was charged with four counts of third-degree burglary and was arraigned Thursday at First District Court in Hempstead.
