Longtime Hicksville Highway Worker Dies Months After Retirement

From Oyster Bay Town: Oyster Bay Town Supervisor Joseph Saladino recently celebrated the life and legacy of longtime Town Highway Department Employee Joseph Kozikowski, a Hicksville resident who worked for the Town for over 28 years in the Highway Department and passed away only months after retirement.

Supervisor Saladino stated, “Joseph Kozikowski consistently demonstrated his versatility with heavy equipment, expertly handling pay loaders, fork lifts, backhoes and tractors. He was a yard supervisor, overseeing operations pertaining to the movement of sand, salt and gravel and always put safety and our residents first. We dedicate the Town’s Shape-Up Room in his memory. As employees prepare for work each day, they will forever be reminded of Joseph’s work ethic, love of the Town and the mutual respect he shared with his fellow employees.”

Joined by the family, friends and colleagues of Joseph Kozikowski, Supervisor Saladino commended his dedication and commitment to the Town and its residents.
