Man Grabbed 10-Year-Old Girl Walking To School In Nassau: Police

BREAKING: Police have released a composite sketch of the man they believe is responsible for this crime.

Police are looking to identify the man who grabbed a 10-year-old girl by her arm while she was walking to school on Wednesday morning in Westbury.

According to authorities, the fifth grade student at Drexel Avenue Elementary School was at the corner of Grand Street and Winthrop Avenue when she was approached from behind by an unknown man, who grabbed her arm at 9:15 a.m.

The girl was able to break free, run away and hide from the man until he fled the scene, police say. The girl, who was uninjured, then ran to school and reported the incident.

Police described the man as white, in his 30's, heavy set, and wearing an orange t-shirt, shorts and work boots. He was last seen heading eastbound on Winthrop Avenue towards Post Avenue.
