Old Westbury Man Drove Drunk, Struck Street Signs on East End: Police
He fled the scene with two flat tires Sunday morning, police said.

CUTCHOGUE, NY — An Old Westbury man was caught in Cutchogue after he drove drunk, hit Peconic street signs, and fled the scene with two flat tires, police said.
According to Southold Town Police, the incident took place on Sunday at 3:06 a.m. on Route 25, when Brendan May, 21, who was driving west in Peconic, went off the road and struck the informational street signage.

He left the scene and headed west, police said; he was observed by police officers in Cutchogue failing to maintain his lane of travel and driving with two flat tires, police said.
May was stopped and found to be intoxicated, police said.

He was arrested and charged with driving while intoxicated, a misdemeanor, as well as leaving the scene of a motor vehicle accident, police said.
May was taken to Southold Town Police headquarters, where he was processed and held for arraignment, police said.
