Westbury Tavern Manager Stole $25K in Cash Sales: Police

The man stole the money over the course of a year, police say.

The manager at Westbury Tavern was arrested Thursday for stealing more than $25,000 in cash sales from his employer over the course of a year, police say.

According to authorities, James Pugliese, 52, of Hempstead, voided cash sales to steal the funds from Westbury Tavern LLC, located at 1080 Corporate Drive in Westbury, from January 2016 to January 2017.

Pugliese was located at his residence and was placed under arrested at 7:50 p.m.

He was charged with third-degree grand larceny and five counts of first-degree falsifying business records.
Pugliese will be arraigned Friday at First District Court in Hempstead.
