Sheriff launches Flock camera transparency portal (wnyt.com subscription) — Hudson-area residents can now see exactly how the Columbia County Sheriff's Office uses Flock license plate cameras through a new online transparency portal. The site explains what data is collected, how long it's stored, who can access it, and what safeguards and audits are in place to prevent misuse. It's meant to give the public clearer oversight of this growing surveillance tool. 
• Clermont horse owner sentenced in animal neglect case (hudsonvalley360.com) — A Clermont-area horse farm owner was sentenced in Hudson to probation, fines, and community service after being convicted of neglecting 13 horses, and is currently barred from owning animals. Columbia County prosecutors and humane society leaders criticized the sentence as too lenient, citing prior allegations and concerns about repeat abuse. The case highlights ongoing local debates over animal cruelty penalties and enforcement.
