ARF presents Long Island's Best - A Pet Adoption Expo
Cat and dog adoption event at Petco in Commack on Saturday, April 30.

ARF is teaming up with other Long Island not-for-profit rescues and municipal animal shelters to promote cat and dog adoption on Long Island for the fifth year in a row. All participating animal welfare organizations will be under one roof outside of Petco in Commack at 30 Veterans Memorial Highway from 11am-5pm.
“We want to make pet adoption as easy as possible,” says ARF’s Director of Operations Michele Forrester. Puppies, kittens, dogs (including mutts and purebreds) and cats representing the best shelter animals on Long Island will be available for adoption. Joining ARF will be shelters from across Long Island including: Best Friends Animal Society, Kent Animal Shelter, Northport Cat Rescue Association, Southampton Animal Shelter Foundation, Town of Brookhaven Animal Shelter, Town of Hempstead Animal Shelter, Town of Smithtown Animal Shelter. Over a hundred cats and dogs will be available for adoption. All animals at the event are spayed/neutered and vaccinated to their age limit and checked by a veterinarian. Each animal will go home with a free collar and leash (dogs) and a cardboard carrier (cats).

A fun-filled family outing awaits Long Islanders who come to Commack on Saturday, April 30. Admission is FREE for the whole family, but adoption fees apply. This event is made possible by a grant from Maddie’s Fund®.
