Assemblyman Lupinacci On The 2016 Legislative Session

A Statement from Chad A. Lupinacci (R,C,I-South Huntington)

“As the 2016 Legislative Session comes to a close, I am pleased with the work that we have accomplished. This year we passed many bills that will directly benefit the people of the 10th Assembly District, Long Island and New York State.

“We were able to accomplish many of my end-of-session priorities, most notably passing ethics reform measures and a comprehensive agreement to address and combat the heroin and opioid addiction epidemic which is plaguing our communities.

“Despite these accomplishments, I am disappointed that the Assembly Majority failed to address the major concerns surrounding higher education and little was done to assist small-business owners or provide mandate relief to our counties and taxpayers.

“Overall, 2016 was successful, but there are still many issues that need to be addressed. I am confident we will continue to pass legislation that helps New Yorkers when we return to session in 2017.”
