“I would liken our relationship to an onion peel,” said McClure. “It had so many layers. We started off as Mother and Daughter and I respected and admired her. As I grew older our relationship evolved to a friendship. She was my "bestie", McClure added.

Patricia M. McClure will be in New York, promoting her book, Losing A Hero to Alzheimer’s, The Story of Pearl.

She will be signing and discussing her book at the Barnes & Noble at Huntington Square Shopping Center located at 4000 East Jericho Turnpike in East Northport, New York. Book Signing is at 2 p.m. Sunday May 15th.

“She was strong, spiritual and wise,” McClure said. “I know no one is perfect but my mom was perfect in my eyes. She never had a bad thing to say about anyone. She was very kind, generous and full of life,” she added.

With Mother’s day celebrations this past Sunday, McClure’s book would be a perfect gift for a caretaker, a mother and/or daughter.

“You know I feel I am very fortunate,” McClure said. “When I think about my mom I have nothing but pleasant thoughts. My mom was a good to me and she was an awesome person and mother. I have never met person who did not like my mom,”.

“Over the years my mom and I celebrated Mother's day by going out to dinner. We also went to plays and concerts over the years. My mom loved music so a few times we also went to some jazz super clubs when I got older. That was very special to me,” added McClure.

Come out on Sunday, May 15h to Barnes and Noble at Huntington Square Shopping Center and introduce your mom to the author.

“Life is very short and it's important for people to treasure every moment that they have with their mom and not take them for granted, McClure said. “For those individuals who felt that their mom could have done more or been a better mom...it's important to thank God for the mom that you have and recognize that their mom has helped to mold them to be the person that they are today,”

“Children should take time out to spend with their mom because in the end all they will have is memories to help sustain them when God calls them home,” McClure added.
