Woman Found Dead In Long Island Sound Identified As Oyster Bay Woman: Police

LLOYD HARBOR, NY — A woman whose body was found in the Long Island Sound off Lloyd Harbor Road earlier this week has been identified as a 32-year-old East Norwich resident, and detectives believe her death is non-criminal, police said.

According to the Suffolk County Police Department, Brittany Kritis-Garip was identified as the woman recovered from the water on Monday evening.

Detectives said they believe the cause of death is non-criminal in nature.

Police were originally called to the scene around 7:45 p.m. on April 13 after a 911 caller reported a body floating in the Long Island Sound.
