E-Bike Rider, 15, Critically Injured In Huntington Crash With School Minibus: Police
A 15-year-old boy was struck by a school minibus at a Huntington intersection Wednesday afternoon and is in critical condition, police say.
HUNTINGTON, NY — A 15-year-old e-bike rider was critically injured in a crash involving a school minibus in Huntington on Wednesday afternoon, according to Suffolk County police.
The teen, an East Northport resident, was operating a Jasion e-bike northbound on Broadway when he entered the intersection at Little Plains Road and was struck by a school minibus traveling west around 4:48 p.m., police said.
The boy, whose name is being withheld pending notification of next of kin, was transported to Good Samaritan University Hospital in West Islip with critical injuries, police said.

The driver of the minibus, a 46-year-old from Brentwood, was not injured. A passenger on the vehicle, identified as a school matron, was also not injured.
The e-bike was impounded for a safety check, police said. Motor Carrier Safety Section officers conducted a safety inspection of the minibus at the scene.
