  1. News 12's Caroline Flynn goes back to Northport High School to see what this year will be like for students. With mask mandates in schools, and COVID-19 still a part of our daily lives, Flynn checks in with teachers and students to see how they are adjusting. (News 12 Bronx)
  2. Island Harvest and PSEG Long Island will be collecting donations of food, personal care items and pet food Friday as part of Hunger Action Day. The event will take place at Stop& Shop located at 1100 Jericho Turnpike in Huntington. The Ladies Ancient Order of Hibernians is having its second annual happy hour and food drive Friday at Six Harbors, from 5 to 9 p.m. Donations of non-perishable food and personal care items will be accepted at the door. Food insecurity is at an all time high since 2020, and if you can help out, please stop at one of these locations and give what you can. (Huntington Now)
  3. Book Revue owner pens final farewell to Huntington community after 44 years. Klein took to Facebook to write a heartfelt message to everyone who supported Book Revue over the years, ending with "In the simple but deceptively profound words of Herbert Stein, “If a thing can’t go on forever it will eventually stop. We have reached our stopping point. Thank you again to all our wonderful customers and to our many former staff members. Let us cherish the memories".(Greater Long Island)
  4. Huntington To Crack Down On Zombie Homes after increase in such properties. The measure will incentivize the occupation or turnover of ownership of zombie homes, problem properties and vacant storefronts by imposing escalating penalties for each year a property is vacant and listed on the Vacant Building Registry. Religious organizations will continue to be exempt from paying the vacant building registration fee. Supervisor Chad Lupinacci proposed the measure in July. (Huntington Patch)
