250th Anniversary Reenactment of the arrival of the Declaration of Independence to Huntington.

Hear the Declaration of Independence read aloud in its entirety at 1pm. See how the Town of Huntington reacted to the news of American Independence. Learn about the Huntington Militia and its involvement in the American Revolutionary War. Step inside a militia encampment. Watch the militiamen drill with musket and cannon firings. See 18th century colonial crafts, trades, toys/games, cooking, and music. Take a tour of "The Arsenal," the home of weaver Job Sammis.

Other activities, demonstrations, and performances will also be at the Kissam House just across Park Avenue, courtesy of the Huntington Historical Society.
