Car Crashes Into Tree In South Huntington

A car crashed into a tree in South Huntington early Saturday morning. The driver and passenger were transported to Huntington Hospital.

SOUTH HUNTINGTON, NY—A car crashed into a tree early Saturday morning in South Huntington, according to P.I.O. Steve Silverman.

The accident happened around 2:55 a.m. on Melville Road near Murdock Street. Firefighters from the Huntington Manor Fire Department used heavy rescue extrication tools to remove the driver and passenger from the car wreckage. The Huntington Community First Aid Squad transported them to Huntington Hospital.

Two heavy rescue trucks and a squad were on the scene under the direction of Chief Jon Hoffmann and Assistant Chiefs Chuck Brady and Jim Glidden.
