Construction Worker Falls 30-Feet From Roof in Centerport
The man was airlifted to a local hospital Monday afternoon.
A construction worker was airlifted to a local hospital after he fell approximately 30-feet from a roof in Centerport on Monday afternoon.
According to fire officials, the 56-year-old man was working on the roof of a condominium at Centershore Road and East Main Street when he fell off of it at around 2:15 p.m.
The Centerport Fire Department as well as the Centerport Rescue Squad ambulance crew and District Paramedic responded to the scene and secured the parking lot of the Chalet Motor Inn as a landing zone for the Suffolk Police Medivac helicopter.

The man was then airlifted to Stony Brook University Medical Center for treatment and observation of blunt trauma injuries, fire officials said.
Centerport units were under the command of Truck Company Captain Robert Simpson.

In a similar incident, a 41-year-old man was airlifted to a hospital after he fell 15 feet from a ladder Saturday afternoon in Huntington Station.
