Here are the top four stories today in Huntington:
- A Cold Spring Harbor man was arrested in connection with the U.S. Capitol assault. "Jon Lizak, 21, was accused of illegally entering the Capitol with four others at about 2:16 p.m. on Jan. 6, 2021, court documents show." He was arrested on Sept. 15 with four others and faces numerous misdemeanor charges. (Huntington Patch)
- Two Half Hollow Hills students earned perfect scores on Advanced Placement exams. Colin Campbell was one of only 306 students in the world to earn every point possible on the AP Research Exam. Alice Wang was one of only 369 students in the world to earn a perfect score on the AP Computer Science A Exam. “I am always impressed with the talent and dedication of our Half Hollow Hills AP teachers and students,” said Half Hollow Hills Superintendent Dr. Patrick Harrigan. - The Great Jack O'Lantern Blaze returns to Bethpage. The widely popular fall activity will be held at the Old Bethpage Village Restoration from Sept. 30 through Nov. 6. It features more than 7,000 hand-carved pumpkins and lights synchronized to music. You can get your tickets now online. (Patch)
- Friends of the Poor Walk will be held Saturday at 9 a.m. in Huntington. The walk will help struggling Huntingtonians.
