Never mind a green thumb, growing more tomatoes is in the genes!
Dr. Lippman is an Associate Professor at Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory, where he studies flower production in plants and how genes controlling flower production give rise to remarkable diversity in the number and arrangement of flowers on branches called "inflorescences." Insights from his most recent work on a flowering hormone known as "florigen" may hold the key to unlocking the next generation of genetic and molecular tools to improve crop yields.
