Drunken Driver Causes Fiery Crash At Gas Station: Police
Two cars caught fire on Tuesday morning in Huntington Station.
A driver was arrested for DWI after he crashed into a gas pump, causing a multi-vehicle fire in Huntington Station on Tuesday morning, police say.
According to police, 24-year-old Huntington Station resident Fernando A. Velasquez was driving a 2014 BMW 328 sedan northbound on New York Avenue when his vehicle left the roadway and struck a gas pump and two unoccupied parked vehicles at Citgo gas station, located at 1811 New York Ave. at 2:38 a.m.

The BMW and one of the other vehicles caught fire in the crash.

The Huntington Manor Fire Department responded to the scene and extinguished the blaze.
Velasquez was arrested and charged with DWI and unlicensed operation of a vehicle. He will be arraigned Tuesday morning in Central Islip.
