An Evening With Rita Coolidge Classic Pop/Rock

Huntington Summer Arts Festival at Heckscher Park Huntington Village – June 26

Rita Coolidge is an American two-time Grammy Award–winning singer who does not disappoint! Her dynamite voice has long been legend among her peers. With her musical ear and precise vocal sensitivity-she can summon an entire mood of sweet fire or soulful abandon with a single nuance. Not being a stranger to the music industry, Coolidge has charted hits on Billboard's pop, country, adult contemporary and jazz with fellow musician and former husband Kris Kristofferson. Coolidge's greatest success on the pop charts came with her breakthrough album Anytime, Anywhere with hit singles "(Your Love Keeps Lifting Me) Higher and Higher", "We're All Alone", "The Way You Do the Things You Do." She has also skyrocketed to the top of the adult contemporary charts with "All Time High" (the theme for the James Bond flick Octopussy). Since, Coolidge has teamed up with her sister, Priscilla, and her niece, Laura Satterfield, to form Walela, where she dove into her Native American (Cherokee) roots over a number of albums from 1995 to 2007. Sharing the stories of her music success, this past April, Coolidge’s memoir Delta Lady hit shelves!

Rita Coolidge’s impact is undiminished—her voice as pure, sweet and powerful as ever and her ability to get inside a song honed by experience and overview.
