Firefighters Discover Blaze In Huntington Home After Power Goes Out
The Tuesday morning fire is under investigation, officials say

Firefighters discovered a fire inside a Huntington home after they responded to wires down during the Tuesday morning snowstorm.
According to fire officials, the Huntington Fire Department responded to a Park Avenue location, near Linda Road, to find that a large tree came down across Park Avenue and took down wires at about 10:50 a.m.
An investigation revealed the residence with the electrical service ripped out of it had smoke coming from the home. Firefighters forced entry and discovered a fire near the kitchen area of the home. About 50 firefighters responded to help extinguish the blaze. The fire was contained to the kitchen area and smoke damage was reported throughout the house, officials say.

The cause of the fire is being investigated by the Suffolk Police Arson Squad and Town of Huntington Fire Marshal.
Two engines, a ladder truck and a heavy rescue truck from Huntington also responded to the scene with support from Huntington Manor and Halesite fire departments. All units were under the command of Chief Jesse Cukro and Assistant Chiefs Rob Conroy and Scott Dodge.

EMS was provided by the Huntington Community First Aid Squad. The Cold Spring Harbor Fire Department assisted by covering another report of downed wires during the alarm.
