Greenlawn Firefighters Battle Commercial Building Blaze

Four fire departments needed three hours to extinguish the flames.

HUNTINGTON, NY — A Huntington commercial building caught fire early Wednesday morning.

Four fire departments, commanded by Greenlawn Chief of Department Angelo Santomauro, responded to 780 Park Ave. at 5:30 a.m., said Steve Silverman, public information officer. The fire was on the roof of Telephonics Corporation, and it extended throughout the duct systems and air conditioning roof units. The firefighters had the fire extinguished in roughly three hours.

No injuries were reported.

The Town of Huntington Fire Marshal and Suffolk County Police Arson Squad are investigating how the fire started.

Santomauro expressed his thanks to the Huntington Manor, Huntington and East Northport fire departments as well as the Commack Volunteer Ambulance Corps for their help.
