Harborfields Honors HS Athletes, Coaches At Board Of Education Meeting
Multiple teams and their coaches were recognized. "Congratulations to everybody," Superintendent Dr. Rory Manning said.
GREENLAWN, NY — The exceptional accomplishments of Harborfields High School student-athletes and coaches were recognized at the Harborfields Central School District Board of Education’s Dec. 13 board meeting, presented by Athletic Director Rob Franco, the school district announced.
First, junior Olivia Eusanio, a member of the varsity field hockey team, was honored for being selected as an All-Region player by the National Field Hockey Coaches Association. Eusanio’s coach, Lauren Desiderio, was also honored for her dedication and support.
Next, the 2023-2024 boys varsity cross-country team – Aiden Hansen, Ronan Leonard, Nolan Means, Joseph Purpura, Rufus Rathbun, Luke Ricci, Connor Rowland and Hartley Semmes – and coach Brian Manghan were recognized for winning their second consecutive Suffolk County Class B and League V championships. The team finished the season 6-0. Representing Harborfields and Section XI, the Tornadoes finished fifth overall in New York state.

Lastly, several Harborfields High School coaches were honored for accolades they received this year: James Delevante was named Section XI Girls Tennis League I Coach of the Year; Daniel Greening became the winningest coach in Harborfields boys soccer program history and was named Section XI League VII Coach of the Year; Manghan was named as Boys Cross-Country League VI Coach of the Year and Suffolk County Class B Coach of the Year, as well as Harborfields October 2023 Coach of the Month; Erin Tyrie was named Girls JV Soccer Coach of the Year; and Scott Wallace was named to the New York State High School Girls Soccer Hall of Fame.
