- More drive-in movies around the Town of Huntington. The drive-in movies will start July 13, with more showings and locations this year. “In an effort to make Huntington’s recreational experiences more accessible, we are taking our Drive-In Movies on the road,” Town Supervisor Ed Smyth said. “I hope to see you all at the movies!” Click the link for a full lineup of times and locations! - Suffolk police facing lawsuit in connection to 2021 Dix Hills graduation party assault. The civil suit claims that Cindy O'Pharrow was assaulted at the party because she was African American. She is seeking up to $60 million because of physical and emotional injuries after trying to help a gunshot victim at the party. "The allegation that officers physically assaulted this individual for no reason is false," Suffolk County Executive Steve Bellone said. "The evidence indicates that the officers acted in the best interest of this victim." (News 12 Connecticut)
- ICYMI: Three-week food drive to be held starting July 16 in honor of Harry Chapin Day. Nassau County Legislator Arnold W. Drucker is joining Long Island Cares, the Plainview-Old Bethpage Library and the Syosset Public Library for the drive. Drop off locations are in the link! (Patch)

Are you a Huntington resident looking for an investment alternative to the stock market?
Bloomberg recently asked experts where they’d invest $100,000 right now, and many of them had the same answer: fine art.
Thinking you can’t afford a Picasso? Well in 2012, Congress passed the JOBS Act, which allowed for the securitization of artwork. A company called Masterworks.io built the largest platform for buying and selling art securities. In the past, you could only buy shares of companies like Apple, but with this investing app, you can unlock this powerful investment.
Meaning, you can invest in shares of million-dollar artwork. And in uncertain times, it turns out, fine art may be a wise investment. Here’s why:
- Low correlation to stocks according to Citi
- Contemporary art historically returns 23.2 percent when inflation is >3 percent
- Contemporary art prices outpaced the S&P 500 by 164 percent (1995-2021)
