- Cinema Arts Centre partners up with The Next Chapter for a pop-up bookstore and documentary screening June 26. The Cinema Arts Centre will present a screening of "Hello, Bookstore," which is a film about how a town in Massachusetts came together to save their local bookstore. The Next Chapter will be in the former Book Revue building, as it was funded by donations from the community after the Book Revue was forced to close due to COVID-19. The pop-up bookstore will go on throughout the day in the Sky Room Cafe. (LongIsland.com)
- Plainview restaurant The Main Event has been cited by Department of Health. New York State Department of Health did its routine inspections in Plainview and The Main Event was given three violations. You can see a full list of all inspections done by clicking the link. (Patch)
- Steers Beach and Asharoken Beach in Northport closed to swimming. Suffolk County Commissioner of Health Dr. Gregson Pigott made the announcement Tuesday, citing high levels of bacteria in the water. The beaches will reopen once the water is deemed safe to swim in. (Patch)
- Police looking for man who stole $4,100 worth of clothes from the South Huntington Macy's. The man stole clothes on May 13 at 5 p.m. and is wanted for grand larceny. Police are asking anyone with information to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-221-TIPS. (Huntington Patch)
