- When will COVID-19 pills be available in New York? In a pandemic in which seems to continue to gain steam, the U.S Food and Drug Administration is making a decision on COVID-19 pills by Pfizer and Merck. These pills would be available at your local pharmacy and the approval could come at the end of the month, meaning New Yorkers would be eligible immediately. "This is truly a game-changer," Dr. Daniel Griffin, an expert on infectious diseases and immunology at Columbia University, told CNN. "This is up there with vaccines. It's not a substitute for vaccines; we still want to get people vaccinated. But, boy, this is just another great tool to have."(Huntington Patch)
- Huntington eyes welcome mat for developers. The town board held public hearings Tuesday on the potential creation of an overlay zoning district along Route 110 in Melville, the final meeting for Chap Lupinacci. These hearings discussed allowing multifamily housing, offices, research, entertainment or retail projects on properties zoned for industrial use. “This ensures that economic development remains a priority for the Town of Huntington and we continue to attract businesses from all parts of the world,” said Lupinacci.
