🌱 Huntington Daily: COVID-19 Updates + Commack Banks Robbed

  1. Suffolk County Government: Coronavirus case update for December 30. As we head into 2022, COVID-19 still ravages on. After the holidays there will be an expected surge, but hopefully we can move past the virus this year. We wish you all a happy New Year and make sure you stay updated on all COVID-19 related news through the Suffolk County Website. (Press Release Desk)
  2. Two banks robbed in Commack on Dec. 29. Two banks were robbed this week in Commack. A man entered Capital One, located at 2050 Jericho Turnpike, at approximately 11:50 a.m. and allegedly handed a teller a note threatening violence and demanding money. The teller gave the man cash from the drawer and the man fled on foot. Suffolk County Police Major Case Unit detectives are also investigating a robbery that occurred at a HSBC bank in Commack later that day. A man entered the bank, located at 5880 Jericho Turnpike, at approximately 4:35 p.m. and allegedly handed an employee a note threatening violence and demanding money.   3. Latest hospital capacity in Huntington area. It's 2022 and we hope this is the year we can move past this virus. For now, Omicron is raging the area and people are getting sick, but the good news is this variant is less lethal. Huntington Hospital's ICU is filled 73%, a decrease from December. 21% of those patients are COVID-19 related. Stay tuned to Patch for all COVID-19 area updates. (Huntington Patch)
