🌱 Huntington Daily: Halesite Animal Shelter On Hold + Saks Robbery

  1. New animal shelter in Halesite put on hold. Town Supervisor Ed Smyth made the announcement Tuesday, nearly 16 months after the Town Board approved $7 million in funding for the shelter. With the increases in prices over that time period, the project will now cost nearly $10 million. We will keep you updated on any news going forward. (Huntington Now)

  3. Huntington man hit with DWI after single-car crash Monday on the LIE. Kenneth Honohan, 53, lost control of his vehicle westbound at exit 53 around 6:10 p.m., which caused him to cross over the median and his 2007 Volkswagen Rabbit to flip. He was not injured but charged with driving while intoxicated. (Daily Voice)
  4. Police looking for trio who stole over $2,000 from Saks Fifth Avenue on Walt Whitman Road. The suspects stole $2,600 from a cashier while making a purchase on Aug. 6 around 2:30 p.m. Police are asking anyone with information to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-221-TIPS. (Huntington Patch)
