  1. Three-week food drive to be held starting July 16 in honor of Harry Chapin Day. Nassau County Legislator Arnold W. Drucker is joining Long Island Cares, the Plainview-Old Bethpage Library and the Syosset Public Library for the drive. Drop off locations are in the link! (Patch)
  2. Fort Salonga home burglarized, gun and jewelry stolen. The home on Spinnaker Court was burglarized sometime between June 24 and Saturday, when the homeowners were away. (Patch)
  3. Harborfields High School announces new principal, Dr. Marie Netto. “It is a true honor to have been appointed by the Board of Education as the next principal of Harborfields High School,” Netto said via news release. “I am eager to begin working with the dedicated educators in the district to foster a positive learning environment where creative educational opportunities flourish. While I am certainly excited to continue the tradition of educational excellence at Harborfields, I am most looking forward to building lasting connections with all members of the school community so that Harborfields remains a place where students feel a sense of pride and belonging.” (Huntington Patch)
  4. Town of Huntington's 11th annual Anne Frank Memorial Ceremony held on June 22 and Town Hall. "We must counter the voices that seek to divide us and fight ignorance with education, which is why the Town honors the memory of Anne Frank every year and, through her voice, all those voices silenced through the Holocaust," Supervisor Ed Smith said via news release.
