Here are the top 3 stories today in Huntington:

  1. Gov. Kathy Hochul lifts indoor mask mandate, effective Thursday. New York State Gov. Kathy Hochul announced Wednesday she is lifting the mask mandate that has now been in effect for months. “Given the declining cases, given the declining hospitalizations, that is why we feel comfortable to lift this, in effect tomorrow,” Hochul said. The mandate will remain in effect in schools and be reevaluated the first week of March. (Patch)
  2. Four Huntington area open houses. Check out these four open houses in the Huntington area. The real estate inventory market is still low, so we helped you narrow down the search and get past the frustration of looking online by using data from Redfin. The homes include one in the Lloyd Harbor area with 5 beds and 6 baths for $1.7 million, and another with 2 beds and 1 bath for $429,000. (Huntington Patch)
  3. Enjoy three beautiful days ahead, with snow on Sunday. The weather looks great for the next three days, with temperatures ranging from the high 40s all the way to 52. It's going to be a great taste of spring, but the cold will be back Sunday. We are watching potential snow accumulations Sunday into Monday with a possible 2-6 inches. We will keep you updated as the storm gets closer to Long Island. (Weather.com)
