- A man stole approximately $4,300 worth of cash and electronics from Cellaxs Phone Repair around 10 a.m. Jan. 23, police said. The man has a life and death tattoo on his left forearm, according to police. He is wanted for grand larceny. The police are asking for anyone who has information to call Suffolk County Crimestoppers at 1-800-221-TIPS. (Huntington Patch)
- A woman was followed home from the Walt Whitman Mall, her car was broken into, and a $3,100 Louis Vuitton pocketbook was stolen. This happened on January 28 right after she purchased the bag. The thieves broke into her car while she was helping her disabled child into the house. Anyone with information about these incidents can contact Suffolk County Crime Stoppers to submit an anonymous tip by calling 1-800-220-TIPS. (WABC-TV)
- Check out what's happening in town this week, as temperatures are supposed to be in the 40s all week and even hit 50 on Saturday. The snow has mostly melted, and it's a perfect week to get out and hit the town. - Huntington Union Free School District: "The Huntington boys’ basketball team took the court last Saturday for the 19th time this winter and turned in its best performance of the season, toppling powerful Bellport in a must-win game, 69-62 and keeping their playoff hopes alive." (Facebook)
- Huntington Arts Council, Inc.: "The Joan Aboff Memorial Art Scholarship is a competitive visual arts scholarship to Usdan; Summer Camp for the Arts.
