- County Executive Bellone announces expansion of Coronavirus testing in Suffolk County. As positive cases continue to reach new daily records, a major issue has been testing in the area. Long lines, minimal appointments, and a lack of at home tests have made it hard for residents to figure out if they have COVID-19. Steve Bellone announced the opening of three new testing sites. The first testing site at Hecksher State Park will open on Wednesday, December 29th, the second testing site at Red Creek Park, which was formerly located at Francis S. Gabreski Airport, will open on Monday, January 3rd, and the third testing site located at Cathedral Pines County Park will open on Tuesday, January 4th.(Press Release Desk)
- Huntington residents line up for Covid-19 Tests. A common theme you may notice on your drive round town is long lines. These lines aren't for a show or a new clothing drop, but to get a COVID-19 test. This is altering residents work life, holiday plans, and much more. “What we have learned so far is that the Omicron variant is highly transmittable and causing a spike in our daily positivity rate,” Suffolk County Executive Steve Bellone said. “Testing is one of the best tools we have when it comes to containing the spread of this virus. As we approach the New Year, these three new sites will provide quick and convenient results for our residents so that they can protect themselves and their loved ones.” (http://www.huntingtonNow.com)
