  1. D'Addario family, Long Island Cares donates 100 turkeys, fixings to those in need. It's been a tough two years for all of us, and many are stepping up for those in need. The D'Addario family, of Huntington Station, is donating 100 turkeys and trimmings to families and veterans.
    They partnered with Long Island Cares to honor the memory of Janet D'Addario – who served on the board of directors for the organization for 11 years. (News 12 Long Island)
  2. New Jalapeño Shack in Huntington serves up Halal-Mexican cuisine. As many new restaurants in Huntington pop up, check out Jalapeno Shack at 340 W. Jericho Turnpike. Owner Khalil Nayl wanted to stray away from the typical Halal spots all over the island, and serves up Tex-Mex style dishes for those looking for variety in their halal-friendly take out. “I wanted to try types of food from different backgrounds, but I couldn’t. So I started making it at home with the family,” Nayl said. “It’s been in the back of my mind to do halal Mexican for a long time.” (Greater Long Island)
  3. Catalina's Bake Shop opens in Huntington. As many bakeries have closed their doors in the area recently, it has bred opportunity for new establishments to make a name. Catalina's Bake Shop recently opened at 1155 E. Jericho Turnpike, and the Latin-x owned shop serves a variety of items to fulfill all your sweet tooth needs. (LongIsland.com)
