Huntington Fire Department To Host Open House

Free raffles will also be held for smoke/carbon monoxide alarms and fire extinguishers.​

From Huntington FD: The Huntington Fire Department is inviting its residents to their annual Open House on Sunday October 14, from 11am - 1pm at the firehouse on1 Leverich Place between New York Avenue and Wall Street. There will be many events and demonstrations as well as fire prevention and fire safety information given by Huntington’s volunteer firefighters. Children will be able to practice getting out of their house in case of a fire in the department’s Fire Safety Trailer. There will be live fire demonstrations showing the proper way to use fire extinguishers. Firefighters will demonstrate the powerful Hurst “Jaws of Life” tools, which are used to remove people that are trapped in auto accidents. Fire trucks will be on display and firefighters will explain the various apparatus and their use. Free raffles will also be held for smoke/carbon monoxide alarms and fire extinguishers.
