  1. Town of Huntington holds inaugural Army/Navy football game. The game was held to honor veterans and was a battle between host Harborfields and visiting Deer Park. Harborfields came from behind to beat Deer Park, 27-26. See photos from the game in the link. (Huntington Now)
  2. Check out five new homes to hit the market. The homes are all located in the Town of Huntington and range in price and size. Interest rates are now the highest they've been in twenty years which means the seller's market has vanished on Long Island and buying opportunities are great. See the homes in the link (Huntington Patch)
  3. Expect cloudy skies today with a chance of rain for Halloween followed by sunshine all week. The good news is the weather will shape up to be beautiful by week's end with sunny skies and temperatures in the mid 60s. (Weather.com)

Patch deal of the day:

Good knives make all the difference in the kitchen, but you don’t need to overpay for them. Seido Japanese knives are made with strong high-carbon stainless steel (high-carbon knives are more durable and usually more expensive) and have an acute 15-degree angle for a noticeably sharper cutting face (most Western-style knives have edge angles of 25 degrees). For a limited time, Patch readers can get a 5-piece Seido Japanese master knife set for 71 percent off. At just under $70, this chef-quality set is perfect for any home cook and would also make a great gift for the holidays.
