- Scared For Your LIIFE Film Festival brings their horror to Cinema Arts Centre. "The festival presented 18 tales of terror from filmmakers around the globe, a vendors room, sponsors to die for, and musical accompaniment from its undead host Jess-o-lantern, all at the festival’s new home-away-from-home: The Cinema Arts Centre in Huntington." - Police warn over 40 people of check-washing scam. The scam affected mostly residents in Huntington, Dix Hills, and Melville. As part of the scam, thieves steal checks out of mailboxes and then change the payee and amount. Police Commissioner Rodney Harrison said, "the scam mostly involves individuals removing mail," which contains incoming and outgoing checks. (Huntington Patch)
