Huntington Police Blotter: 2022 Audi Stolen

ALSO: A man was assaulted by two other men, with one of the men using a baseball bat to hit him, police say.

HUNTINGTON, NY — Curious about what's going on in your neighborhood? These are recent incidents reported in the Huntington area from July 24 through July 30.

The Suffolk County Police Department posted the following information. All charges are accusations and do not signify guilt.

  • July 30: Grand larceny (third-degree) was reported on Walt Whitman Road in South Huntington from July 27 at 6:45 p.m. A woman stole more than $3,000 worth of sunglasses from Sunglass Hut, police said.
  • July 29: Grand larceny (third-degree) was reported on Taylor Road in Huntington Bay from July 18 at 12:01 a.m. A person made withdrawals from someone else's bank account, police said.
  • July 29: Grand larceny (second-degree) was reported on East Shore Road in Halesite at 1 a.m. A 2022 Audi was stolen from a driveway, police said. The car was unlocked and had the key fob inside it, police said.
  • July 28: Assault (second-degree) was reported on New York Avenue in Huntington Station at 10:30 p.m. A man was assaulted by two men he didn't know, police said. One punched him, while the other hit him in the arm with a baseball bat, police said. The man suffered injuries to his head and needed stitches, police said. He was brought to Huntington Hospital, police said.
  • July 25: Identity theft (first-degree) was reported on Norwich Street in South Huntington from July 21 at midnight. Someone stole a man's identity and used his personal information to access his bank account, police said. The thief purchased items online, police said.
  • July 24: Burglary (third-degree) was reported on Wall Street in Huntington from July 23 at 11:30 p.m. A person pried open the back door of Sal D's Italian restaurant and stole money, police said.
