Huntington Police Blotter: 3 Cars Stolen
The keys were left in the car in at least two of the thefts, police say.
HUNTINGTON, NY — These are recent incidents reported in the Huntington area from Jan. 2 through Jan. 6.
The Suffolk County Police Department posted the following information. All charges are accusations and do not signify guilt.
- Jan. 6: Grand larceny (third-degree) was reported on Meadowlawn Street in Huntington from Jan. 5 at 5 p.m. A person stole a 1999 Chrysler parked outside a home after the keys were left in the car, police said.
- Jan. 6: Grand larceny (third-degree) was reported on Midland Street in Cold Spring Harbor at midnight. A person stole a 2020 BMW from the driveway of a home after the keys were left in the car, police said.
- Jan. 3: Burglary (third-degree) was reported on Rofay Drive in Dix Hills from Jan. 1 at 4 p.m. Somebody broke into a storage room at a Town of Huntington facility and stole landscaping equipment, police said.
- Jan. 3: Grand larceny (third-degree) was reported on Caledonia Road in Dix Hills from Jan. 2 at 11 p.m. Someone stole a 2015 Mercedes-Benz G 550 from a driveway, police said. Police did not know whether the keys were left in the car, police said.
- Jan. 2: Grand larceny (fourth-degree) was reported on Walt Whitman Road in South Huntington at 12:34 p.m. A woman walked into Saks Fifth Avenue and started cutting the security tags off two handbags and tried to steal them, police said.
