Huntington Police Blotter: Cocaine Recovered In Search Warrant

The man found to have the cocaine faces criminal sale of a controlled substance charges, police say.

HUNTINGTON, NY — These are recent arrests made in the Huntington area from Aug. 12 through Aug. 21.

The Suffolk County Police Department posted the following information. All charges are accusations and do not signify guilt.

  • Aliah Mercer, 21, of Centereach, stole a purse off someone's shoulder in Commack around 9:40 p.m. July 4, police said. The purse contained cash, ID, a coach wallet and other items, police said. Mercer was arrested and charged with fourth-degree grand larceny: property from person on Aug. 19.
  • Mauricio Soriano, 31, of Huntington Station, sold cocaine, police said. Soriano was found to possess a quantity of crack cocaine that was recovered during a search warrant on West Pulaski Road in Huntington Station, police said. He was arrested and charged with third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance: narcotic drug w/ intent to sell and three counts of third-degree criminal sale of a controlled substance on Aug. 12.
