Huntington Police Blotter: Man Falsified State Tax Returns

The state resident income tax return contained false statements and false information, police say.

HUNTINGTON, NY — These are recent arrests made in the Huntington area from Feb. 6 through Feb. 12.

The Suffolk County Police Department posted the following information. All charges are accusations and do not signify guilt.

  • Justin Medwed, 34, of Plainview, was pulled over when he was caught speeding and swerving out of his lane on southbound Woodbury Road in Huntington at 1:19 a.m. Feb. 12, police said. He was arrested and charged with DWI: previous conviction in 10 years on Feb. 12.
  • Edgar Martinez-Marquez, 26, of Huntington Station, was found in possession of cocaine on Iceland Drive around 9:20 a.m. Feb. 11, police said. He was arrested and charged with third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance: narcotic drug w/ intent to sell, fifth-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, and second-degree criminal use of drug paraphernalia on Feb. 11.
  • Zachary Terry-Wade, 27, of Huntington, on April 23, 2021, prepared a 2019 New York state resident income tax return that contained false statements and false information, police said. He was arrested and charged with three counts of first-degree false instrument: intent to defraud and three counts of fifth-degree criminal tax fraud on Feb. 9.
  • Juventino Garcia-Vasquez, 55, of Brentwood, presented a form to the New York State Department of Motor Vehicles claiming his driving privileges weren't revoked, but his privileges actually had been revoked, police said. He was arrested and charged with two counts of first-degree false instrument: intent to defraud on Feb. 8.
