Huntington Police Blotter: Man Injures Worker, Tries To Flee Officers
ALSO: A man who was found in possession of cocaine was arrested, police say.
HUNTINGTON, NY — Curious about what's going on in your neighborhood? These are recent incidents reported in the Huntington area from June 4 through June 10.
The Suffolk County Police Department posted the following information. All charges are accusations and do not signify guilt.

- June 10: Ryan McIntosh, 32, who is homeless, stole 10 pairs of sunglasses worth $4,745 from a store at Walt Whitman Shops around 4 p.m. June 10, police said. McIntosh also stole merchandise from a store at 275 Middle Country Road, Coram, on May 22, 2022, police said. He was arrested and charged with third-degree grand larceny and petty larceny.
- June 7: Eric Sanders, 43, of Huntington, stole $438 worth of meats from ShopRite on New York Avenue in Huntington Station around 7:30 p.m. June 7, police said. He kicked and punched an employee, who suffered multiple cuts and needed medical attention, police said. Sanders tried to flee police by driving southbound on New York Avenue in Huntington 15 minutes later, police said. He drove his 2018 Chevrolet Equinox at a high speed until he crashed into a dumpster, police said. He tried to run away but was caught by officers, police said. He was arrested and charged with second-degree robbery: cause physical injury and third-degree flee officer in motor vehicle.
- June 6: Brian Ruiz-Chaparro, 33, of Huntington, was found on East 15th Street in Huntington Station with crack cocaine weighing more than four ounces, police said. Ruiz-Chaparro was accused of having agreed to sell cocaine, police said. He was arrested and charged with second-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance: narcotic drug 4 oz or more, third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, second-degree criminal use of drug paraphernalia and second-degree conspiracy.
