Huntington Police Blotter: Man Possessed Psychedelic Mushrooms

ALSO: Another man was arrested after he was accused of using a fake name on a DMV form, police say.

HUNTINGTON, NY — Curious about what's going on in your neighborhood? These are recent incidents reported in the Huntington area from Nov. 12 through Nov. 18.

The Suffolk County Police Department posted the following information. All charges are accusations and do not signify guilt.

  • Nov. 15: Jose German Garcia, 41, of Oyster Bay, used a false name on a DMV form at the Huntington DMV on Oct. 10, police said. He was arrested and charged with first-degree false instrument: intent to defraud.
  • Nov. 14: Miguel Correa, 46, who is homeless, was found to be in possession of psychedelic mushrooms, hallucinogens and cannabis, police said. Correa stole clothing from Dick's Sporting Goods in Melville on Nov. 14, police said. He was arrested and charged with one count of second-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance: 25 milligrams of hallucinogen, two counts of third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, one count of fourth-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, one count of seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, unlawful possession of cannabis and petty larceny.
