Huntington Police Blotter: Man Slashes Another Man With Knife

ALSO: Another man stole an expensive jacket from a store at Walt Whitman Shops, police say.

HUNTINGTON, NY — These are recent arrests made in the Huntington area from Jan. 10 through Jan. 16.

The Suffolk County Police Department posted the following information. All charges are accusations and do not signify guilt.

  • Darwin Garcia, 22, of Huntington Station, slashed a man with a knife at 11:45 p.m. Jan. 16 at Second Avenue and Pulaski Road in Huntington Station, police said. The man needed stitches, police said. Garcia was arrested and charged with assault w/ intent to cause physical injury w/ weapon on Jan. 16.
  • John Guallpa, 24, of Corona, stole a Moncler Down Jacket from Saks Fifth Avenue at Walt Whitman Shops at 3:15 p.m. Jan. 16, police said. He was arrested and charged with fourth-degree grand larceny: value of property more than $1,000 on Jan. 16.
